What is The Freedom Festival? The inaugural Freedom Festival is a weekend event for all who value freedom and liberty.
When is it? From 3.00 pm on Friday 14 March to 3.00 pm on Sunday 16 March, 2014.
Where is it? The Festival will be held at the Days Hotel, 3 Russell Cotes Road, East Cliff, Bournemouth BH1 3AB Accommodation is also available at the Ramada Encore, 22 Bath Road, Bournemouth BH1 2NS Both hotels are right in the centre of Bournemouth.
The Days Hotel (formerly Marsham Court Hotel) is right on the sea front. A family-owned, 3-star traditional seaside hotel, all bedrooms are en suite and recently refurbished. The hotel has excellent conference facilities and large, modern open-plan bar/lounge areas.
The Ramada Encore is just a short, flat walk inland from the Days Hotel, and is owned by the same family. All the bedrooms are en suite and ultra-modern. The hotel has a smart, large, open-plan bar and lounge area.
Both hotels are affiliated to the Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel company.
Why Bournemouth? Bournemouth has a magnificent setting, with superb views, attractive parks and excellent shops. For many years, it was the most popular of the Conservative Party’s regular conference venues. It is easy to reach from London by car or train and has a wide range of accommodation from low cost to luxurious.
Who’s organising it? The Freedom Association, a cross-party organisation dedicated to promoting individual freedom. Founded in 1975, The Freedom Association also runs The Freedom Zone, on the Conservative Party Conference Fringe.
The festival also has the active support of the Adam Smith Institute, Big Brother Watch, Business for Britain, the Centre for Policy Studies, Conservative Way Forward, the Institute of Economic Affairs and The TaxPayers’ Alliance.
What can I expect at the Festival? An amazing weekend packed with varied sessions, featuring the best pro-freedom speakers from the UK and overseas. You’ll have lots of opportunities to have your say and to play your own part in the discussion and debate.
Is the Festival a party political event? The festival is strictly non-partisan. Freedom-loving people of all political persuasions are welcome to attend. Speakers from numerous mainstream political parties have been invited.
What will the Festival cost me? Your place at the Festival includes everything except drinks etc. purchased at the bar or to accompany your meals.
Do I have to stay at the Festival hotels? You are welcome to book a non-residential package for one, two or three days, or just for the Festival Gala Dinner, making your own accommodation arrangements. See the “Book Now” page for all the flexible options available
Are there any concessionary rates? A limited number of places are available at discounted rates for anybody under 30 years of age on 16 March 2014 (i.e. for anyone born on or after 16 March 1984).
